Question:

I do not see the reference sequence I need to perform an analysis in GeneSifter Analysis Edition. Can it be added?

Answer:

I do not see the reference sequence I need to perform an analysis in GeneSifter Analysis Edition. Can it be added?

Adding a reference depends on the type of account you have, and the pipeline you want to run it with. References for common model organisms (e.g. Human, Rat, Mouse) can generally be added for current GeneSifter customers at no charge. References for less common organisms or highly custom sequences generally need to be done as a professional service.

To make a request for a new reference start by contacting us using the Secure Email link from within your GeneSifter account. Include as much information as you can about the species, and info on where to obtain sequence and annotation data. Sequence data is preferred in FASTA (.fa or .fsa) format. Annotation data is preferred as a GFF (.gff) file.

When sending us the data files you have a choice of attaching the files to the Secure Email, uploading them to your GeneSifter account as NGS data, or we can provide an FTP account to you upon request. Alternatively you can send us links directly to the exact files you would like to use.
