My Heat Map image is only showing one color, how can I make it display both red and green?

Answer:

When you are analyzing multiple sets of samples in a new project on GeneSifter Analysis Edition you might be expecting to see different levels of expression. When you click on “Show All Genes”, you will get a visual representation of your analysis using a Heat Map. A different expression level for each gene will be depicted, relative to the control, with green for down regulation and red for up regulation.

You might only see red and black boxes. This is probably because you don’t have negative values on your data. In order for you to put your expression levels into a negative – positive space, you need to log transform your data. Log transforming is a common practice for visualizing data.
