Copying a drawing


Click To Start


  • Select the marquee tool from the tools palette
  • Move to an empty area of the drawing window above and to the left of a structure
  • Press down with the mouse
  • With the mouse button down, move the mouse down and towards the right
  • When the selection rectangle completely encloses the structure, release the mouse button
  • Press down anywhere in the drawing window with the right mouse button (Macintosh: press down with the mouse button while holding down the Control key on the keyboard) to display the Pop-up menu
  • With the mouse button still down, move the mouse to the Edit item on the Pop-up Menu
  • With the mouse button still down, move the mouse to the right
  • With the mouse button still down, move the mouse downward until it is over the Copy item in the Edit submenu
  • Release the mouse button (Macintosh: also release the Control key)
  • Click anywhere in the document to deselect the structure

Pasting a drawing

  • Move to an empty area of the drawing window
  • Press down with the mouse
  • With the mouse button down, move the mouse down and towards the right
  • When the selection rectangle completely encloses the structure, release the mouse button
  • Press down anywhere in the drawing window with the right mouse button (Macintosh: press down with the mouse button while holding down the Control key on the keyboard) to display the Pop-up menu
  • With the mouse button still down, move the mouse to the Edit item on the Pop-up Menu
  • With the mouse button still down, move the mouse to the right
  • With the mouse button still down, move the mouse downward until it is over the Paste item in the Edit submenu
  • Release the mouse button (Macintosh: also release the Control key)
  • Click anywhere in the document to deselect the structure
