CAL Menu Commands

Menu commands consist of a two-word command from the main menu and in some cases an optional argument.

Following are examples of commands:

  • file new
  • edit paste
  • search find
  • record next

You do not need to spell out menu commands. You can enter just enough letters to uniquely identify the menu option. For example, to execute the Record Next command, type: rec n

Some menu commands open a dialog box and wait for user feedback. To avoid this, a limited number of menu commands can take explicit arguments:

FILE OPEN [filename]

FILE SAVE [filename]

RECORD GO TO RECORD [recno]
